Hawaii Pacific Health Physician - Adult Congenital Heart Disease in Honolulu, Hawaii
Job Description Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group is seeking a motivated and collaborative Pediatric Cardiologist with subspecialty training in Adult Congenital Heart Disease to join a dynamic and expanding adult congenital cardiology center in Hawai‘i.
Hawaii Pacific Health incorporates 4 major medical centers, including Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women and Children, the only tertiary care pediatric hospital in the State of Hawai‘i, as well as Straub Medical Center and Pali Momi Medical Center, two leading regional hospitals with strong inpatient and outpatient cardiology services. The pediatric and congenital cardiology group has been one of the main areas of successful development of the medical group. With continual expansion of cardiac services, we recently hired a congenital heart surgeon and are opening a congenital heart center in 2022. The Adult Congenital Heart Disease center at Hawaii Pacific Health was established in 2014, and has been providing care to an increasing number of patients since its inception. The ACHD center incorporates an adult congenital cardiologist, a dedicated nurse practitioner, a congenital heart surgeon, specialized radiologist with expertise in cardiac imaging, adult electrophysiologists and an experienced cardiac catheterization laboratory. In addition, the ACHD team at Hawaii Pacific Health collaborates with adult cardiologist across the entire state to provide integrated management of complex patients with heart disease.
An Adult Congenital Heart Disease specialist candidate will have pediatric cardiology training with sub-board certification or eligibility in ACHD. Responsibilities include a wide range of outpatient clinical care, evaluation of basic cardiac tests, ECGs, echocardiograms and exercise stress tests, as well as consultation and inpatient care for adults with congenital heart conditions. In addition to the adult congenital cardiology services across the network of our hospitals, the ideal candidate would take on an active role in diversifying and expanding our comprehensive ACHD services, and leading innovative initiatives in the field of ACHD. Besides clinical responsibilities, participation in research and teaching through the University of Hawai‘i, John A. Burns School of Medicine is highly encouraged.
