Hawaii Pacific Health Physician - Division Chief of Hematology-Oncology in Honolulu, Hawaii

Job Description

The Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group is comprised of over 700 employed physicians and advanced practice providers. Together with our four medical centers (Kapi‘olani, Pali Momi, Straub, and Wilcox) and more than 50 convenient clinic locations statewide, our nonprofit health system is one of the state’s largest health care providers. Our network of physicians and specialists work together to provide a distinctive and effective model of coordinated care for maintaining the health and wellness of our patients.

Hawai‘i Pacific Health Medical Group is seeking a board eligible/board certified Hematologist/Medical Oncologist to lead our Hematology/Oncology division that provides care at Hawai'i Pacific Health Cancer Centers. Our practice has a disease-based approach, enabling providers to specialize in their desired sub-specialty of oncology while also engaging in a community practice model. We are seeking an oncologist who has an interest in providing the highest quality of cancer care in the state of Hawai'i. Hawai'i Pacific Health Cancer Centers are the only Integrated Network Cancer Program in the state accredited by the Commission on Cancer. The Division Chief will be leading a team of cancer care providers that serve four primary cancer centers with the opportunity to deliver outreach services to our rural neighbor island practices. Our practice is supported by advanced practice providers, four infusion centers that employ board-certified oncology nurses, an adult inpatient oncology care unit, and a navigation team of disease-based nurses, social workers, and oncology liaisons. Our practice partners with the Hawai'i Pacific Health Medical Group divisions of surgery, radiology, pulmonology, urology, palliative medicine, primary care, and others to offer a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care.

Hawai'i Pacific Health is consortium partner of the University of Hawai'i Cancer Center, an NCI-designated cancer center. Through collaboration with other state health care leaders, we aim to provide research, education, patient care and community outreach with an emphasis on the unique ethnic, cultural, and environmental characteristics of Hawai'i and the Pacific region. Additionally, Hawai'i Pacific Health is an affiliate of the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance/Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, one of the next closest NCI-designated cancer centers located over 2500 miles away. Through this affiliation, our providers are directly connected to a leading academic center offering you innovative and patient-centered collaboration when needed by you or your patients.

The Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology will oversee the work of the hematology/oncology physicians and advanced practice providers at each of the Hawai'i Pacific Health Cancer Centers. The Division Chief will provide key leadership into the development and implementation of system wide clinical standards, clinical care coordination, input into the strategic planning and program development, physician recruiting andretention, and promotion of physician professionalism and well-being and will also assist in developing and delivering provider training as needed.

The ideal candidate will be experienced, mission driven, and have an interest in offering clinical trials/research to provide the highest level of cancer care. Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits that include relocation, malpractice, CME, and retirement savings programs.

Combine the advantages of an integrated group practice with the cultural diversity, superb lifestyle, excellent climate, and year-round activities of one of the happiest and healthiest places in the country!

· Thoracic Oncology

· Hematology (malignant and benign)
